Aircraft Maintenance Project Manager

• Consolidates user requirements for new construction aircraft maintenance support facilities and renovations to existing facilities
• Communicates requirements information to the Garrison’s Directorate of Public Works, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and construction contractors
• Reconciles the builder’s construction schedule and detailed facility plans against previously documented requirements.

• Monitors the builder’s progress, identifies discrepancies and unforeseen issues, and prepares recommendations for government decision authorities.
• Develops and maintains a working knowledge of aircraft configurations and ground support equipment requirements for all fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft in the Army inventory.
• Develops an understanding of Shop and Laboratory requirements associated with developmental flight testing and applies that knowledge during the facility planning process.
• Assists with various aspects of coordination associated with the test center’s BRAC-directed relocation to Redstone Arsenal.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience may be substitued for education.
• Must have at least 10 years experience in aviation maintenance and 5 years in construction or project management.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to successfully coordinate activities and information with a multitude of external agencies, each with unique and often conflicting priorities.
• Typically, the incumbent will resolve problems without direct assistance from government managers.
• During formal and informal meetings, the incumbent will have frequent and close interaction with key stakeholders, and must successfully serve as a positive representative for the organization.
